Privacy Policy

The website does not require an account. It does not run advertising or behavioural analytics. It loads current public plan and export settings from Firebase, and our hosting providers may process ordinary request information such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps for security and service delivery. Most of this policy describes the InkReels app.

This policy explains what the InkReels app collects, why it collects it, who it is shared with, and what you can ask us to do with it. We have tried to describe what the software actually does rather than reserve every right we could.

1. Who we are

InkReels is the creative app described on this site, covering the Ink drawing tools, the Reels video editor, and optional AI-assisted features. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean the people who build and operate InkReels. You can reach us any time at hello@inkreels.com.

2. What the app collects

Account information

InkReels accounts use email and password sign-in. When you register we store your email address and the dates your account was created and last signed in, along with whether your email has been verified. Your password is never visible to us — it is handled entirely by Google Firebase Authentication, which stores it in hashed form.

Usage counts

We keep simple counters on your account: how many Ink projects and Reels you have created, which platform you last used (web, Android, iOS, or desktop), and your balance and usage of AI credits. These exist to run the product — to show your library and to meter AI features fairly. They are counts, not copies of your work.

Plan, trial, and purchase information

We keep the plan you use, subscription status, trial dates, export allowances, and AI credit balance needed to provide paid features. Purchases made through Apple, Google, Microsoft, or another authorised store are processed by that store. We receive the purchase status and product entitlement needed to activate your plan, but we do not receive or store your full payment-card number.

Feedback and error reports

If you send feedback from inside the app, we store your message, its category, your email, and the app version and platform, so that we can reply and reproduce what you described. If the app hits an error, it may record the error message, a technical stack trace, and the same version and platform details. Error reports are only sent while you are signed in.

Analytics

The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand which features are used and where people get stuck. This produces aggregate, product-level measurement — screen views, feature events, and general device and region information. We do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share it with data brokers.

Advertising

Free accounts may see passive ads in the Android and iOS apps after any active trial has ended. Paid plans and active trials do not see ads. Ads are served by Google AdMob only after Google’s consent flow allows ad requests; if consent is unavailable or an ad fails to load, the app continues without showing that ad space. We do not add an IDFA tracking prompt unless a future ad setting requires it.

3. Your creative work

Your drawings, recordings, and videos are yours. We do not claim ownership of anything you make in InkReels, and we do not browse, publish, or sell your projects. Where a feature you actively invoke needs to send content off your device — an AI suggestion, a cleanup, or generated music — that is described in the next section. Nothing is uploaded for those purposes unless you trigger the feature.

4. Services we rely on

We use a small number of third-party providers, each for a specific job:

5. How your data is protected

Data is stored in Google Firebase and transmitted over encrypted connections. Access is governed by server-enforced security rules: your account record can be read only by you and by an authorised administrator, and feedback and error reports cannot be read back by other users at all. Your usage counters can only be changed by our server, not by any client, including yours. No system is perfectly secure, but these controls are enforced by the server rather than trusted to the app.

6. How long we keep it

Account information is kept for as long as your account exists. Feedback and error reports are kept while they are useful for support and fixing bugs. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your account record and associated personal information; some entries may persist briefly in routine backups before ageing out.

7. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in the UK and EU, or the CCPA in California — these may be legal rights; we aim to honour them regardless of where you are. Email hello@inkreels.com and we will respond. You can also sign out at any time, and deleting the app stops all further collection from that device.

8. Children

InkReels is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

Our providers operate globally, so your information may be processed on servers outside your own country, including in the United States. Those providers use recognised safeguards for such transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and move the “last updated” date above. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
